Road Traffic Offences
Our quotes cover summary only offences under Part 1 of the Road Traffic Act 1988 and the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1988 to be dealt with in the Magistrates Courts as a “guilty” plea – fixed fee £360 inclusive of VAT.
Fee includes:
- Considering evidence
- Taking your instructions at the office or by Zoom
- Providing advice on likely sentence
- Attendance and representation at a single hearing at the Magistrates Court
The fee does not include:
- Further attendances at Magistrates Court
- Advice and assistance in relation to an argument of “special reasons” in an attempt to avoid an obligatory disqualification or an argument of “exceptional hardship” in an attempt to avoid a penalty points disqualification
- Advice and assistance in relation to any appeal to the Crown Court
- Travelling to provide representation at Magistrates Courts other than Bodmin Magistrates’ Court or Truro Magistrates’ Court
The key stages of your matter are based on the presumption that you enter a guilty plea consist of the following;
- Meet with your solicitor in person or by Zoom to provide instructions on what happened.
- We will consider initial disclosure, and any other evidence and provide advice.
- We will explain the court procedure to you so you know what to expect on the day of your hearing, and the sentencing options available to the court.
- We will conduct any further preparatory work, obtain further instructions from you if necessary and answer any follow-up queries you have.
- We cannot provide a timescale of when your hearing will take place, as this depends on the court listing for that day.
- We will attend court on the day and meet with you before going before the Magistrates. We anticipate being at court for between 1 and 2 hours. We will discuss the outcome with you. If advice is required on appeal, this will carry an additional cost.

Fee includes:
- Considering evidence
- Taking your instructions at the office or by Zoom
- Representation at preliminary hearings and at trial
- Taking statements from witnesses
The fee does not include:
- Instruction of any expert witnesses or their fees
- Travelling to provide representation at Magistrates Courts other than Bodmin Magistrates’ Court or Truro Magistrates’ Court
- Attendance and representation at a sentencing hearing, if the you are found “guilty” after a trial and the case is adjourned for a sentencing hearing
- Advice and assistance in relation to any appeal to the Crown Court

- We cannot provide a timescale of when your hearing will take place, as this depends on the court listen for that day.
- We will attend court on the day and meet with you before going before the Justices.
- We will discuss the outcome with you. If you are found “guilty” after that we will advise you on sentencing options and will provide representations at trial.
